May 26th, 2008 - I've gone into crazy mode and the last 7 days have been nothing but R2. I've got the drive motors and dome motors in and working. As you can see, there are some finishing details yet to be completed. I've already added the battery boxes and the hoses to the feet. :) |
January 13, 2008 - Sorry there haven't been many updates lately. I just received the Sidevents, Skin attachment blocks and servo slides from Daniel. Most of the last couple months have been in research mode. I ordered a bunch of magnets hoping they would help with some leg stuff (but that didn't work out) and I've been asking a lot of questions how to hook up the battery system. Quite a bit to think about and figure out. I'm still waiting on the most important piece - a new aluminum frame, which should arrive sometime in February. I've ordered new leg belts, battery boxes are due in February as well. and I've finally been able to find most of the leg screws needed. The special spacers have arrived as well, so I'm going to start assembing the legs and post some pictures soon. |

September 5, 2007 - I finally found all the screws and bolts needed to start assembling the outer feet. Put the ankles together and attached the ankles and the details to the outer feet. |

August 20, 2007 - Painted all the leg pieces that I have (just missing battery boxes). It's a mult-step process but the parts turned out really nice. Now I've got to go find all these screws, bolts and connectors to connect everything. |

August 17, 2007 - Howdy everyone. It took a bit for my uncle to get my parts throught the process as business picked up, but that is just fine as these parts look AWESOME!!!! I test painted the periscope with the Duplicolor white paint to see how it looks. I like it and I'll paint the rest of the leg items this weekend. More pics early next week!! |
June 19, 2007 - Yes - I know it's been a while. After going to C-IV, I am now getting back into the swing. I've received a BUNCH of parts since the last update in March. I've got all the feet, ankles, all the detail parts and the aluminum skins and such. There are only a couple items remaining - Side vents, battery boxes, drive motors and there's a run for an aluminum frame coming in July from JAG. I'm dropping off all the feet and ankle parts to my uncle this Saturday for professional prep and prime. Then I'll get the legs all put together and when the frame comes I can finish off the skins. Look for more updates here in July (if anyone is still looking!!) |

| March 19, 2007 - Received Center Vents and Louvers (Tom D), Skin snap attach parts (Darren M) and the Periscope and LFS lifters (Daniel D). | |
| Drilled out all the holes to attach the dome base plate to the bottom of the dome. Cleaned up the primer on the periscope housing. | |
| March 9, 2007 - Received the outer ankle side details from Daniel D. Another set of really nice parts. | |
| March 8, 2007 - Received aluminum skins from John S. They come in four pieces (inner front, outer front, inner back, outer back) | |
| March 3, 2007 - Installed the aluminum Holoprojectors into my dome. Required drilling new holes in the HP housings to match my previous dome screws. | |

Feb 28, 2007 - Received aluminum Holoprojectors and Under Shoulder Details. The HPs are really neat looking and feature the club logo on the opening door. |

Feb 23, 2007 - Receive the foot moon details from Tom D and the dome base plate from Daniel. I've also assembled the periscope main body and have started to putty and prime it. |

| Jan 8, 2007 - Hi everyone. I kind took a break for the holidays, but I did order my Remote control (a spektrum DX-6). Received the foot hoses from Mike last week, but still waiting on a bunch of other parts. I did, however work on the dome rear logic kit (made of 6 Walgreens christmas light kits - it took FOREVER!!). It is almost ready to put in the dome, I just have to connect all the wires for that and figure out how to mount the switches in the dome. | |

Dec 14, 2006 - Attached all dome hinged panels with 3M industrial double sided tape. Provides a little bit of give and worked great (and easy to replace). |

Nov. 22, 2006 - Painted all the Blue pieces I have using Duplicolor etching primer, sealing primer, Royal Blue, and clear coat. This color is a perfect match for the R2-D2 color. |
